Every Muslim, whether male or female, is obligated in Islam to seek at least the basic education in religion.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Seeking knowledge is a duty of every Muslim.” If women had been excluded from this exhortation, the Prophet (peace be upon him) would have certainly said so. In fact, in another version of the same hadith, it is said, “on every Muslim, male and female”. Allah tells us in the Qur’an: “Ask those who know, if you have no knowledge.”

The report commonly known among Muslims is that Lady Aishah was nine years of age when she married the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Undoubtedly keeping promises and keeping one’s word are attributes of a believer, and breaking promises is one of the attributes of a hypocrite. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is reported to have said: “There are four (characteristics), whoever has them is a hypocrite, and whoever has one of the four has a characteristic of hypocrisy unless he gives it up: when he speaks, he lies; when he makes a promise he breaks it; what he makes a pledge he betrays it; and when he disputes he resorts to foul language.” (Reported by al-Bukhari and Muslim)

But are there any reasons that breaking a promise become permissible according to Islam?

In Islam, funeral rites and practices have been prescribed by revealed law, in accordance with the dictates of Allah. According to revealed law, beginning from the time of Prophet Adam until the last Prophet, Muhammad, peace be upon them all, burying the dead has been the prescribed method of conveying the deceased to their graves. We have no mention anywhere that cremation was acceptable in any of the previous dispensations from God.
