Question :

As-salamu `alaykum.

My question concerns halal meat.
As far as I know (please correct me as my knowledge on the subject is limitedl), the Qur'an does not describe exactly how an animal must be slaughtered and what words, if any, should be said when it is done. So how did the rules come about?

Also, is it acceptable to eat meat from the Children of the Book and say bismillah before eating if I have reasonable grounds to think that the animal was alive when killed (even if stunned) and was killed with a sharp blade without suffering?
Please answer in brief.

One month ago Fitna the movie was released. Fitna was created by Geert Wilders, a dutch parliamentarian and he got some help from his friend during the film production. Finally Fitna was released in a video sharing website Liveleak.com and suddenly Wilders become a very popular person on earth. Blessing in disguise, the right word for liveleak. It help Liveleak to increase the web traffic and to promote the website. The following day, Liveleak removed the film from their servers after
receiving threats especially to their employee.

In Windows, we can use UltraEdit or EditPlus to edit file remotely using FTP or (S)FTP protocol. To find the same applications in Linux is not easy. But there's one application we can use in Linux to edit file remotely. We can use jEdit.

Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. There is confusion among us women regarding whether it is permissible to perform the prayer (salah) with cosmetics and lipstick on. Some of us say that a woman may apply lipstick, etc., after wudu’ (ablution) and then she can offer her prayers. Others among us say that a woman's prayer cannot be accepted when she is wearing lipstick. Please explain what is the right position?
