E-book ini adalah ringkasan dari kitab aslinya Madarijus Salikin karya ulama besar yaitu Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jauziyah. Kitab aslinya sendiri terdiri dari 3 jilid.

Buku ini merupakan obat jiwa bagi masyarakat di masa sekarang yang lebih sering dihembus badai materialisme, yang pikiran manusia lebih banyak memikirkan materi, yang keberhasilan mereka lebih banyak diukur dari kaca mata materi, sehingga bara permusuhan dan kebencian semakin berkobar, kejalangan mewarnai setiap masyarakat, kehidupan terasa semakin berat, kesengsaraan ada di mana-mana, pemaksaan menjadi mode, ujian dan cobaan merajalela dan materi menjadi sesuatu yang disanjung di dalam hati manusia.

As-Salamu `alaykum! What does Islam say about anal sex? What are the consequences of having anal sex on the marriage? Jazakum Allah khayran.

Answer (Group of Islamic Researchers):

Since it is obligatory on every Muslim male and female to acquire knowledge, the woman has got as much right as the man has got for acquiring knowledge and education. Hence the injunctions of the Qur’an and Sunnah are equally applicable to men and women.

1. The importance which the Qur’an gives to education and learning can be judged from this fact that the first few verses of the Qur’an which were revealed on Prophet Muhammad (Allah's peace be upon him) instructed him to read.

Imam Ali Bin Abi Thalib RA adalah sosok yang sangat mengagumkan. Taat, pemberani, cerdas, arif dan bijaksana merupakan beberapa sifat dan karakter yang ada dalam diri beliau. Beliau adalah sepupu sekaligus menantu dari baginda Rasulullah SAW. Beliau besar dalam didikan Nabi Muhammad SAW dan termasuk pemuda pertama yang mengimani ajaran Islam yang dibawa oleh Nabi Muhammad SAW.

Buku ini menceritakan periode kehidupan Imam Ali RA ketika beliau masih dalam asuhan Nabi Muhammad SAW sampai periode meninggalnya beliau setelah terjadi konflik politik yang berkepanjangan. Dalam buku ini porsi cerita setelah wafatnya Nabi Muhammad SAW begitu besar, karena dalam periode inilah terjadi pergantian kepemimpinan yang menjadi awal penyebab konflik politik yang mengguncang umat Islam kala itu. Bahkan konflik politik itu lah yang melahirkan dua golongan besar dalam Islam yaitu Sunni dan Syiah.

I need your advice on a matter that has been troubling me. My mom is a non-Muslim living in the US. A few years ago, she took out a life insurance on herself and she made my sisters and I the beneficiaries, but I found out only recently. Her intention really is that her funeral expenses and debts would be covered and if there is anything left over, her children would get something.

Is it haram for me to receive any of this money? I was thinking of asking her to take my name off, but I know that would hurt her so I've decided to let it be. But whenever the time comes, I can tell my sisters I can't take anything if that money is haram for me. Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Answer (Dr. Monzer Kahf):

1. Dress up for your wife, look clean and smell good for her. When was the last time us men went shopping for designer pajamas? Just like the husband wants his wife to look nice for him, she also wants her husband to dress up for her too. Remember that Prophet Muhammad - sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam - would always start with Miswak when returning home and always loved the sweetest smells.

1. You believe in the existance of Allah Ta'ala, but you do not fulfil his commands.

2. You say you love Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu 'alahi wasallam), but you do not follow his sunnah (ie, his example).

3. You read Quran but you do not put it into practice.

4. You enjoy all the benefits from Allah Ta'ala, but you are not grateful to him.

5. You acknowledge Satan as your enemy, but you do not go against him.
