Declaration of World Muslim League about Ahmadiyyat

World Muslim League held its annual conference at Makkah Al-Mukaramma Saudi Arabia from 14th to 18th of Rabiul Awwal 1394 H (April 1974) in which 140 delegations of Muslim countries and organizations from all over the world participated. Here are the declaration :

Qadianism or Ahmadiyyat: It is a subversive movement against Islam and the Muslim world, which falsely and decietfully claims to be an Islamic sect; who under the guise of Islam and for the sake of mundane interests contrives and plans to damage the very foundations of Islam. Its eminent deviations from the basic Islamic principles are as follows:

1. Its founder claimed that he was a Prophet.
2. They deliberately distort the meanings of the verses of the Holy Quran.
3. They decalred that Jehad has been obolished.

Fitna VS Almouftinoun VS Schism

One month ago Fitna the movie was released. Fitna was created by Geert Wilders, a dutch parliamentarian and he got some help from his friend during the film production. The earlier plan was to launch the film in TV station in Netherland but it was failed. Finally Fitna was released in a video sharing website Liveleak.com and suddenly Wilders become a very popular person on earth. Blessing in disguise, the right word for liveleak. It help Liveleak to increase the web traffic and to promote the website. The following day, Liveleak removed the film from their servers after
receiving threats especially to their employee.

Building Mosques for Certain Ethnicities

Question :

Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum.

Living in the US as a Muslim, I see a lot of Muslim communities from different countries who congregate in their own "borders." There is a masjid for every nationality (Indonesian, Egyptian, Sudanese, etc.). Shouldn't we just have masjids for all, not further dividing ourselves along these nationalistic or ethnic lines? What positive steps can we take toward this?

Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Not Knowing the Direction of Qiblah

Question :

Respected Scholars, As-salamu `alaykum. I would like to ask you a question which has been on my mind for very long. I was outside and the time for Prayer came, but the place had no mosque or place to pray. I didn’t have a compass at the time due to forgetfulness. I can tell the direction of the sun but on that day the sky was not clear and I couldn’t see the sun. So I prayed in a car park facing a pillar as the sutrah. Is my Prayer valid? Should I repeat it? Please provide me with an answer.

Qur'anic Verses for Protection and Cure

Question :

Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum.

Is there any ayah or surah to recite and blow on oneself or on others for protection or for cure?

Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Having a Sex Change Operation: Is My Conversion Acceptable?

Question :

Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. This is a question I was just wondering about, if a man has a sex change and later in life he/she wants to become Muslim, is it acceptable? And would he have to reverse the sex change or can he/she just live her life as a woman? Jazakum Allahu Khayran.

Answer (Sheikh Muhammad NurAbdullah):

Mahr Too Low

Question :

 As salamu 'alaykum,

I am engaged to be married soon. My future husband and his family have said that it is a tradition in their family to give the bride $500 for the mahr (dowry) at the time of nikah (Islamic marriage). Although I am not the type of person to demand a lot from my husband, this amount seems low to me - especially since my future husband has a good job and is reasonably wealthy. I do not know what to do about this, as I don't know the Islamic ruling on the amount of mahr. Should I say something to him and his family, or should I just settle for whatever amount they give me? I would appreciate any advice regarding this issue. Jazakallah, and thank you for all your good work on this website.
