Question:

Salam Alaykum!

Can black magic prevent someone from getting married?
I’ve always thought the answer was no because alhamdulilah, I'm religious; I pray, read Qur'an, and make dua'a and didn’t think that it can affect me.

But everyone tells me that it has to be the reason that I'm not married because Allah has blessed me with beauty, intelligence, education, great personality, and a great reputation masha'Allah. However I'm 32 years old and still not married.

Question:

Salaam. I like this man but my parents won't consent because of status issues. I do not want to hurt them but I also cannot hurt the man I like for almost 2 yrs.

In Islam, we should not hurt or disappoint our parents. I am trying to convince them but what if they do not agree? I do not want to go against them but I know the man I like is a good man and is also Muslim. Please advice thanks.

Hai orang-orang yang beriman, berzdikirlah (dengan menyebut nama) Allah, zikir yang sebanyak-banyaknya. Dan bertasbihlah kepada-Nya diwaktu pagi dan petang. Dialah yang memberi rahmat kepadamu dan malaikat-Nya (memohonkan ampunan untukmu), supaya Dia mengeluarkan kamu dari kegelapan kepada cahaya (yang terang). Dan adalah Dia Maha Penyayang kepada orang-orang yang beriman. (QS Al-Ahzab 41-43)

Ketika kehidupan sedang mengalami jalan buntu karena dihimpit oleh berbagai masalah seperti sedang menghadapi fitnah atau urusan hutang piutang yang belum terlihat ada jalan penyelesaiannya, seringkali manusia datang kepada orang-orang yang mereka anggap mampu mencarikan jalan keluar dari masalah yang sedang mereka hadapi. Dalam kondisi seperti itu, apabila jalan yang ditempuh itu salah, maka upaya tersebut tidak akan dapat menyelesaikan masalah dan malah bisa jadi menimbulkan masalah baru yang kadang-kadang jauh lebih berat dari masalah semula.

I am a Muslim youth and I proposed marriage to many women. Every time I propose to a woman, I find her wali (guardian) asks for a lot of money as her mahr (dowry) as well as asking me about my income and whether I have a flat and other things that I am unable to provide before marriage. I have a sufficient salary al-hamdu lillah but they ask for a lot of money. Is it correct to ask for a large amount of money as mahr and how can I deal with this situation?

The month of Rajab is one of the sacred months and there are many important events in Islamic history that took place in the month of Rajab, such as the Night Journey and Ascension (Israa’ and Mi`raj), the Battle of Tabuk, and the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque from the crusaders at the hands of Salah Ad-Din Al-Ayyubi.

The merit of Rajab is like the merit of the rest of the other sacred months. Allah Almighty says: (Lo! the number of the months with Allah is twelve months by Allah’s ordinance in the day that He created the heavens and the earth. Four of them are sacred: that is the right religion. So wrong not yourselves in them) (At-Tawbah 9: 36).

Di masa sekarang ini, banyak orang ingin tahu akan Islam, tetapi pengetahuan mereka mengenai agama ini bervariasi. Pengetahuan mereka mungkin diperoleh melalui artikel, buku, atau bagian dari sebuah buku rujukan yang mereka baca di sekolah. Mereka mungkin mengetahui sebagian orang Muslim, melewati sebuah Masjid, menonton film dokumenter atau berita malam, atau mungkin telah mengunjungi negara Muslim. Bagi sebagian orang, Islam hanyalah sebuah 'agama yang lain', tetapi untuk sebagian besar lainnya, Islam telah menjadi sesuatu yang menarik untuk dicermati.

Dan seperti itulah yang terjadi dengan salah seorang sahabat Nabi Muhammad Saw, Salman Al-Farisi. Salman Al-Farisi berasal dari Persia dan seumur hidupnya dia melakukan perjalanan panjang untuk mencari kebenaran, sampai di ujung perjalanannya dia bertemu dengan Rasulullah Saw. dan masuk memeluk agama Islam hingga menjadi sahabat dekat Rasulullah Saw. dan pembela Islam.
