Verse
53 أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَاباً وَعِظَاماً أَئِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones, can we (then) verily be brought to book?
54 قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ He saith: Will ye look?
55 فَاطَّلَعَ فَرَآهُ فِي سَوَاء الْجَحِيمِ Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell.
56 قَالَ تَاللَّهِ إِنْ كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin,
57 وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنتُ مِنَ الْمُحْضَرِينَ And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom).
58 أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ Are we then not to die
59 إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا الْأُولَى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ Saving our former death, and are we not to he punished?
60 إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ Lo! this is the supreme triumph.
61 لِمِثْلِ هَذَا فَلْيَعْمَلْ الْعَامِلُونَ For the like of this, then, let the workers work.
62 أَذَلِكَ خَيْرٌ نُّزُلاً أَمْ شَجَرَةُ الزَّقُّومِ Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqam?
63 إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاهَا فِتْنَةً لِّلظَّالِمِينَ Lo! We have appointed it a torment for wrong doers.
64 إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌ تَخْرُجُ فِي أَصْلِ الْجَحِيمِ Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell
65 طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُ رُؤُوسُ الشَّيَاطِينِ Its crop is as it were the heads of devils

Quran 7:155

155

وَاخْتَارَ مُوسَى قَوْمَهُ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلاً لِّمِيقَاتِنَا فَلَمَّا أَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُم مِّن قَبْلُ وَإِيَّايَ أَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ السُّفَهَاء مِنَّا إِنْ هِيَ إِلاَّ فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَن تَشَاء وَتَهْدِي مَن تَشَاء أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِينَ

And Moses chose of his people seventy men for Our appointed tryst and, when the trembling came on them, he said: My Lord! If thou hadst willed Thou hadst destroyed them long before, and me with them. Wilt thou destroy us for that which the ignorant among us did? It is but Thy trial (of us). Thou sendest whom Thou wilt astray and guidest whom Thou wilt. Thou art our Protecting Friend, therefore forgive us and have mercy on us, Thou, the Best of all who show forgiveness.
