56 وَمَا يَذْكُرُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ هُوَ أَهْلُ التَّقْوَى وَأَهْلُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy.
55 فَمَن شَاء ذَكَرَهُ So whosoever will may heed.
54 كَلَّا إِنَّهُ تَذْكِرَةٌ Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment.
53 كَلَّا بَل لَا يَخَافُونَ الْآخِرَةَ Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter.
52 بَلْ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُؤْتَى صُحُفاً مُّنَشَّرَةً Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah).
51 فَرَّتْ مِن قَسْوَرَةٍ Fleeing from a lion?
50 كَأَنَّهُمْ حُمُرٌ مُّسْتَنفِرَةٌ As they were frightened asses
49 فَمَا لَهُمْ عَنِ التَّذْكِرَةِ مُعْرِضِينَ Why now turn they away from the Admonishment
48 فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشَّافِعِينَ The mediation of no mediators will. avail them then.
47 حَتَّى أَتَانَا الْيَقِينُ Till the inevitable came unto us.
46 وَكُنَّا نُكَذِّبُ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ And we used to deny the Day of Judgment,
45 وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخَائِضِينَ We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders,
44 وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ Nor did we feed the wretched.
