40 أَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَن يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَى Is not He (who doeth so) able to bring the dead to life?
39 فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَى And made of him a pair, the male and female.
38 ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّى Then he became a clot; then (Allah) shaped and fashioned
37 أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِّن مَّنِيٍّ يُمْنَى Was he not a drop of fluid which gushed forth?
36 أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى Thinketh man that he is to be left aimless?
35 ثُمَّ أَوْلَى لَكَ فَأَوْلَى Again nearer unto thee and nearer (is the doom).
34 أَوْلَى لَكَ فَأَوْلَى Nearer unto thee and nearer,
33 ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ يَتَمَطَّى Then went he to his folk with glee.
32 وَلَكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى But he denied and flouted.
31 فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّى For he neither trusted, nor prayed
30 إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَسَاقُ Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving.
29 وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ And agony is heaped on agony;
28 وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ And he knoweth that it is the parting;
