Windows: Masalah Shutdown di XP

Memiliki masalah dengan shutdown (mematikan PC)? Mungkin cara dibawah ini akan berguna. Cara dibawah ini berhasil untuk kasus yang saya hadapi. Salah satu teman saya tidak bisa mematikan komputernya meskipun dia telah meng-klik tombol Shutdown. Saya temukan caranya dari sini.

Mulai Regedit dan arahkan ke

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Ubah value dari PowerDownAfterShutdown menjadi 1.

Jika value itu tidak ada, tambahkan dengan membuat string value PowerDownAfterShutdown dan seting valuenya menjadi 1


Catatan: Jika cara diatas tidak berhasil untuk kasus yang anda hadapi, mungkin itu adalah masalah dengan shutdown yang lainnya, anda bisa mencoba cara-cara lainnya disini.


Mempercepat Waktu Shutdown

Ketika Windows kita matikan, tiap proses yang masih berjalan diberikan waktu default 20 detik untuk menyelesaikan prosesnya secara utuh. Jika ada sebuah proses yang tidak merespon dalam periode waktu yang diberikan tersebut maka Windows akan menampilkan kotak dialog proses "Wait, End Task, or Cancel", yang akan memberikan anda tambahan waktu 20 detik lagi untuk menutup proses tersebut atau membatalkan proses shutdown. Dengan kata lain jika anda isi value dengan value yang lebih rendah maka proses shutdown akan bisa lebih cepat.
Buka Regedit dan arahkan ke ‘HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\’
Pilih value ‘WaitToKillAppTimeout’.
Ubah menjadi ‘5000'.
Sekarang pilih value ‘HungAppTimeout’
Ubah juga menjadi ‘5000'.

Seting diatas hanya untuk user yang sedang digunakan sekarang, untuk semua user dapat menggunakan ini:

Buka REGEDIT dan arahkan ke ‘HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop’
Pilih value ‘WaitToKillAppTimeout’.
Ubah menjadi ‘5000'.
Sekarang pilih value ‘HungAppTimeout’.
Ubah juga menjadi ‘5000'.

Catatan: '5000', value ini dalam miliseconds. Restart komputer agar hasilnya nanti bisa dirasakan
