79
فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَبِإِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ
So. We took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high road plain to see.
|
|
80
وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الحِجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
And the dwellers in Al-Hijr indeed denied (Our) messengers.
|
|
81
وَآتَيْنَاهُمْ آيَاتِنَا فَكَانُواْ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
And We gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them.
|
|
82
وَكَانُواْ يَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ بُيُوتاً آمِنِينَ
And they used to hew out dwellings from the hills, (wherein they dwelt) secure.
|
|
83
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ مُصْبِحِينَ
But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour,
|
|
84
فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكْسِبُونَ
And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not.
|
|
85
وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لآتِيَةٌ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ
We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, O Muhammad, with a gracious forgiveness.

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ الْخَلاَّقُ الْعَلِيمُ
Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All Wise Creator.
|
|
87
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ سَبْعاً مِّنَ الْمَثَانِي وَالْقُرْآنَ الْعَظِيمَ
We have given thee seven of the oft repeated (verses) and the great Quran.
|
|
88
لاَ تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَى مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجاً مِّنْهُمْ وَلاَ تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoy, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers.

وَقُلْ إِنِّي أَنَا النَّذِيرُ الْمُبِينُ
And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner,
|
|
90
كَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى المُقْتَسِمِينَ
Such as We send down for those who make division,
|
|
91
الَّذِينَ جَعَلُوا الْقُرْآنَ عِضِينَ
Those who break the Quran into parts.
