Ayat
1 وَالنَّازِعَاتِ غَرْقاً By those who drag forth to destruction,
2 وَالنَّاشِطَاتِ نَشْطاً By the meteors rushing,
3 وَالسَّابِحَاتِ سَبْحاً By the lone stars floating,
4 فَالسَّابِقَاتِ سَبْقاً By the angels hastening,
5 فَالْمُدَبِّرَاتِ أَمْراً And those who govern the event,
6 يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُ On the day when the first trump resoundeth
7 تَتْبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُ And the second followeth it,
8 قُلُوبٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَاجِفَةٌ On that day hearts beat painfully
9 أَبْصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌ While eyes are downcast
10 يَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَمَرْدُودُونَ فِي الْحَافِرَةِ (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state
11 أَئِذَا كُنَّا عِظَاماً نَّخِرَةً Even after we are crumbled bones?
12 قَالُوا تِلْكَ إِذاً كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌ They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding.
13 فَإِنَّمَا هِيَ زَجْرَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ Surely it will need but one shout,
